As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be providing key infrastructure support for all business functions. This is including (but not limited to) servers, networking and cloud solutions deployed for internal team members and external customers. The role will involve design, deployment and management of systems while being flexible to changing business requirements. You will also be an escalation point for the IT Support Engineering team, providing guidance and training. Our Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer role offers a hybrid pattern of home working and working from our Central Support Office. You can choose to work more frequently in the office if you'd prefer.


IT Team

  • Providing a point of contact for complex support issues which require a deeper knowledge of IT infrastructure and related systems.
  • Introducing improvements to the IT ticketing solution
  • Using initiative and quick thinking to solve issues whilst minimising disruption to the business or operation.
  • Proactively identifying any possible improvements to team procedures with consideration of cost and waste.
  • Documenting processes as required
  • Providing a well-run, highly available service to our customers within Dobbies – Ensuring that reporting is provided and, when set, service level agreements are being met.


  • Manage communications to IT team during planned/non-planned service disruptions
  • Contact point for 3rd party partners who are integrated to provide services to Dobbies for IT infrastructure
  • Involved in communications to team members/IT Team during major incidents involving, but not limited to, security, disruptions of service.


  • Support and Administer Microsoft 365 services including Azure, Azure AD, Office
  • Installation, configuration, and management of Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems. (Active Directory and Group Policy)
  • Good understanding of security practices and solutions
  • Endpoint management (particularly Microsoft Intune)
  • Experience of automating tasks (PowerShell scripting knowledge)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems, such as web filtering systems, cloud storage solutions, and cloud-based applications
  • Good understanding of requirements for secure networking
  • Test, evaluate and maintenance security products and policies
