About this opportunity

Do you want to work at the forefront of the Group's Platform transformation?

The Changing Together & Ways of Working team sits within the Portfolio Management directorate in the Group Chief Operating Office (GCOO). We're accountable for the change operating model, change method, Quarterly Business Review (QBR) system and strategic improvements to enable the embedding and maturity of the platform operating model.

About The Role.

As a Head of Business Agility (HBA), you'll report into the Changing Together & Ways of Working Director, playing a pivotal role in enabling platform adoption of agile across the Group.

The purpose of your role will be to coach and challenge CIOs and Business Unit leaders in increasing platform performance through driving productivity, effectiveness, efficiency, and predictability across platforms. HBAs are a trusted partner of the CIOs, helping shape the strategic direction for our platform adoption of agile ways of working to enable execution of the strategy.

The HBA is jointly responsible for the performance of their Business Unit including data quality, optimised flow of work, business unit topology, and agile practices. You'll do this by championing and embedding a data led approach to increase speed to market through related measures (Time to Value), introduce proactive continual improvements and coach back to delivery when off track.  You'll achieve this by working directly with CIOs who hold accountability for performance and maturity, whilst providing coaching and transferring capabilities so that teams are ultimately able to do this for themselves in time.

HBAs are accountable for line management, people leadership and developing the expertise of the Business Agility Lead (BAL) community. Working closely with the Head of Method & Tooling, the HBAs ensure consistent application of agility coaching across the Platform teams. You'll build an inclusive and empowering culture within the BAL community to actively integrate and challenge ways of working at all levels.

As a Head of Business Agility, you’ll:

  • Improve Business Unit performance and productivity with relentless data focus across teams.

  • Drive data quality and the accurate use of JIRA and JIRA Align

  • Coach, challenge and influence leaders to get back on track to delivery, improve and accelerate performance.

  • Mature Business Unit ways of working

  • Identify and deliver actionable insights to drive out waste in the connectivity of the work

  • Connecting and driving best practice within the Business Unit.

  • Optimisation of performance reviews and outcome meetings

  • Resource, skills and strategic workforce planning across BAL community

  • Create BAL culture that enables impact of BALs to be felt across Platforms and Labs
