Role Purpose

Are you looking for a new challenge that can make a difference? Look no further than the Scottish Borders Council! We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Council and make a significant impact as the new Head of Adult Services.

The person we are looking for must be a dynamic trailblazer who leads from the front, inspiring teams to fulfil the Councils ambitions and meet our community’s needs.

As a member of the Council Management Team, the key skills and experience for this role are those with proven leadership, strategic vision, ability to drive change and can make a positive impact.

Reporting directly to the Joint Director - Health & Social Care Partnership, as Head of Adult Services, you will be at the forefront of developing strong strategic and operational direction.

Essential

Applicants must have a recognised professional qualification in a relevant discipline e.g., business management, Social Work with additional proven abilities in strategic management.


PVG Membership (Adults) is an essential requirement of this post (under Disclosure Requirements)

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
