Job Description

To provide leadership and to manage a team of qualified and unqualified staff within the Occupational Therapy Service in order to deliver the key strategic aims of the organisation and to ensure the citizens of Moray have access to a high quality service. To ensure that Community Care forms effective partnerships within the area and that the aims and objectives of the Moray Community Health and Social Care Partnership are promoted. To lead or contribute to social care initiatives or projects on a Moray-wide basis

 

Responsibilities

To ensure high quality services are provided in the area and that intended outcomes for clients are achieved

To effectively manage allocated budgets, staff resources and performance

To be responsible for all aspects of performance management in the team

To provide strong leadership that ensures that all staff are delivering to the highest standard

To ensure the maintenance of and compliance with departmental policies, procedures and standards through effective quality assurance

To contribute to, or lead social care projects or initiatives on a Moray-wide basis

The Individual

.Broad range of Occupational Therapy practice along with considerable post graduate experience Experience of staff supervision

HPC registration. Degree/diploma Occupational Therapy

Effective communication skills both oral and written Effective time management and organisational skills IT skills

Flexible approach to work Effective organisational skills Ability to write policies and procedures. Understanding of performance management An ability to critically evaluate individual and service performance. Financial management skills Recruitment and selection skills Ability to work across professional boundaries Knowledge of the SSSC Codes of Practice and evidence of understanding/ application in relevant work setting. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van

Tact, diplomacy and patience Ability to reconcile demands with needs and financial pressures Ability to motivate staff Commitment to providing services that empower and enable service users, which promote an increased independence and to a culture of continuous improvement

Able to work flexibly including some evening and weekend work to meet the demands of the service. Ability to work in an open plan/shared office Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements

36.25hrs per week

£28.15 per hour

£53062.75 per annum
