Job Description

To manage the operational team comprising of the Housing Support Team, the Refugee Resettlement Team and the Housing First Project ensuring outputs meet the agreed requirements for the Housing and Property Service.

Requirements

Manage the role of the service manager in line with the Care Inspectorate and Scottish Social Services Commission (SSSC) guidelines and regulations.

Oversee the management of the team and support the role of the Housing Support Officers to ensure that team performance meets agreed targets.

Manage and develop staff within the Housing Support Team / Refugee Resettlement Team / Housing First Project.

Develop robust audit measures for the Housing Support Team / Refugee Resettlement Team / Housing First Project activities and ensure that quality assurance is, thereafter, delivered and maintained.

Contribute towards the writing of Committee Reports as they relate to the Housing Needs Operations Team and ensure that complaints are responded to within agreed timescales and that all reports comply with any legislative framework.

The Individual

Significant experience of working in Housing at a Senior/Management level.

SVQ4 plus management qualification relevant to the field of housing support.

Ability to manage complex situations and find appropriate solutions.

Ability to motivate staff and organise workloads.

Have effective time management and organisational skills.

Be able to prioritise workloads and meet identified deadlines.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to effectively manage financial and human resources.

IT literate with extensive experience of Microsoft Office package.

Self-confident and self-motivated.

Good knowledge of Housing Legislation.

Good knowledge of other relevant Legislation as it relates to housing.

Ability to relate to chief officers, colleagues, staff and the public.

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.

Be a good team player and leader.

Have a flexible approach in seeking to deliver service priorities.

Capable of working independently and with minimum supervision.

Appreciation, acceptance of and a commitment to the importance of confidentiality.

Ability to contribute to the development of the service.

Ability to work in different offices dependent on the needs of the service.

 

Closing date: 12 July 2024

Starting Salary £47,068 per year

£24.97 per hour

36.25 hours per week
