Introducing the team:

We're a mix of capital markets and pensions senior lawyers and lawyers who share a common goal of providing insightful and strategic legal advice and innovative solutions. A friendly, open and lively team, we love to collaborate and pride ourselves on providing an excellent service. We partner with GCT business, Risk, People & Places and Legal & Secretariat colleagues to support matters which are core to the Group’s strategy. • Capital management and issuance.
  • Central bank facilities and intra-group funding and divisional treasury matters.
  • Group debt and financial disclosures.
  • Group strategic and regulatory projects including Recovery & Resolution, Edinburgh Reforms, regulatory change, engagement, and horizon scanning.
  • We also advise businesses across the Group on colleague pension arrangements. It's a diverse area of law requiring flexibility and dynamism. Supporting our senior Pensions lawyers could be a great development opportunity, so if it interests you, we’d be happy to involve you.

We ask you also to make a positive contribution to our people, culture, and strategy and to bring your energy and ideas to help us improve and future-proof our ways of working.

What we need from you!

You’ll need a current UK legal practicing certificate to qualify for this role, with ideally 2+ years PQE.

We're also looking for these key attributes:

  • Experience in providing commercially focused legal advice on complex financing transactions, ideally with good experience in capital markets or securitisation.

  • Builds effective relationships and partners collaboratively in and across teams; able to work independently.
  • Impactful communication and influencing skills; emotional intelligence; comfortable to speak up and challenge when needed.
  • Creativity, innovation, critical thinking, a “growth mindset” and passion to learn and broaden skills; self-aware, uses feedback to inform areas for development.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills or potential, our values and behaviours, promotes diversity and inclusivity and shares our Purpose.
