NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to develop the role of Senior Nurse, Primary Care and Health Inclusion due to the retiral of the current post holder.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join us in supporting the quality-of-care delivery within Primary Care in Dundee.

As the Senior Nurse you will work closely with the wider Primary Care Management team to support all aspects of care delivery within the portfolio, providing visible leadership, whilst supporting professional and clinical governance.

You will have responsibility for workforce planning across services and the professional development of the Health Inclusion Service, which includes nurses and link workers for social prescribing. You will also provide professional leadership to nurses within 2c practices and have a remit more widely for a range of clinical areas within primary care.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills at a time of continuing quality improvement, recognising the challenging environment. This post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional and sector boundaries and a real desire to provide the highest standards of care. It also requires flexibility and an ability to adapt and change.

You should have an interest in primary care and communities, and a passion to reduce health inequalities.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing a learning culture where staff growth, wellbeing and engagement are crucial in supporting the delivery of care.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
