National Treatment Centre - Highland

We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking qualified Senior Staff Nurse to join the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department.

The NTC-H is a new purpose-built centre which provides care for both Ophthalmology and Orthopaedic Patients. The Centre is based in the City's University Campus and has 5 theatres, a 24-bedded ward and dedicated Ophthalmology Outpatient Department.

The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible in supporting the Senior Charge Nurse in leading, managing and developing nursing teams within the Ophthalmology Outpatient Dept.

This is a WTE post of 37hrs per week.  This includes occasional weekends to cover the Ophthalmology Casualty Clinic.

We offer annual learning and development time to support your core learning needs. Successful applicants will be supported by the Senior Charge Nurse and will be provided with a robust and supportive personal development plan.

Experience in Ophthalmology is desirable. You must be registered with the NMC.

Full or part time hours are available with permanent, fixed term and secondments considered. Please state your post and hours preference on application.

An attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 may be available to eligible successful qualified candidates.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
