About the department  

Our Sustainable Investment Team is responsible for producing insights on sustainability, working with our investment teams to integrate this into analysis and decision-making, voting and active ownership, and working with our client and sales teams to commercialise our sustainability offering.

Sustainability considerations and regulatory requirements for investment strategies have grown in importance over the last decade. It is strategic focus area for abrdn. We believe that companies concerned about the long-term interests of their shareholders should manage relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders, and consider the long-term impact of their actions on the environment and society.

About the role  

As the Sustainability Analyst you will get the opportunity of being a part of creating Sustainable Investing processes and implementation, with a strong focus on sustainability data coordination and analysis.

You will get the opportunity as the Sustainability Analyst to work closely with other internal stakeholders focused on data processing, automation and monitoring of investment data overall, working to incorporate sustainability-related data where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of sustainability data and tools to assess investments.

  • Supporting the operational management of sustainable investing strategies.

  • Identifying and supporting enhancements to operational processes.

  • Working with internal stakeholders to assess and monitor sustainability data, and to form conclusions on fund and firm-wide exposures to sustainability factors. 

  • Provide expertise on sustainable investment processes and criteria to our investment teams and internal stakeholders.

  • Support and participate in internal Sustainable Investment governance and oversight structures.

 About the candidate requirements   

  • Strong data analysis skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of sustainability data and third-party provision.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of financial markets.

  • Knowledge of industry trends in sustainability issues is beneficial.
