The Roads Partnership Office, Signal Box Road, Blairgowrie PH10 6ER.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, practical, and well organised individual to join our Greenspace Ranger team within Community Greenspace. Within the role you will work to promote and encourage volunteering opportunities in a wide range of Council greenspaces.
You will assist with community engagement on greenspace projects and themes and implement an agreed programme of greenspace tasks to provide opportunities for community involvement and management on greenspace sites and path networks. The Ranger will also undertake greenspace site condition inspections for repair programmes and safety purposes, including tree and water safety inspections.
This is a multidisciplined role which requires candidates to use their own initiative, manage their own work, whilst sometimes lone working. The Eastern & Highland ranger is based in Blairgowrie and covers Strathmore, Dunkeld & the Pitlochry area bordering onto the Cairngorms National Park at Strathardle and Glen Shee. The post is based at the Blairgowrie Roads Office, with flexible working arrangements to enable the postholder to work from other offices or from home within the requirements of the role. This is a permanent post and uniform and a vehicle will be provided.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require excellent communication skills, be customer focused and enthusiastic with a flexible approach to work. You will present yourself positively, be confident and able to stay calm under pressure. You will be an innovative problem solver with the ability to develop strong working relationships within Community Greenspace, across the organisation and with partner organisations. You will be an effective verbal and written communicator. You will be required to conduct training workshops and presentations to a range of audiences and be able to deliver important health and safety information to groups effectively.
 
We will expect you to demonstrate the above clearly and concisely within your job application. 
 
You must have a minimum qualification of HND, or equivalent, for responsibilities to be undertaken or at least significant equivalent experience in a work-related discipline. You must have a valid driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
