Job title: Finance Manager - Project

Job type: Fixed Term Contract – 9 months

Location: Edinburgh

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Manager to ensure successful delivery of Project Arbour through ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the Finance workstream’s milestones.  The successful candidate will most-likely be Edinburgh-based and will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of the Project Arbour Finance workstream’s objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day contact for Finance workstream of Project Arbour – establishing and maintaining relationships with the key Finance teams (particularly Financial Control, and Fees & Billing) and the touchpoints that the workstream has with the wider project and organisation; including with our outsourced Chief Actuarial function

  • Design, build and execution of testing plan for the workstream

  • Interaction with the Arbour Project Management Office

  • Identifying any incremental regulatory reporting required post-completion and ensuring that this is part of the workstream’s deliverables and testing plan – in conjunction with the abrdn Life and Pensions Limited Financial Controller

About the candidate requirements

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced project environment

  • Highly organised with great attention to detail

  • A self starter with a proactive and, results driven mindset

  • Prioritise workload ensuring all deadlines are met/managed effectively

  • Knowledge and experience in as many of the following areas as possible:

    • The financial operating model of abrdn Group – e.g. Oracle/Hyperion – and its wider interaction with the operations of the Group; including SS&C/Citi

    • Financial control, fees/billing and rebates

    • Designing, executing and interpreting the results of a testing plan
