Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,256 per annum.
Band 5 development post also considered, salary range £30,229 - £37,664 whilst in training
Relocation Allowance of up to £8000 is also availalble
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Shetland Macmillan Nursing Team. The Macmillan Oncology Nurse Specialist is responsible with other team members for the delivery of the Nurse Led Chemotherapy Service in Shetland. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of all aspects of care for patients with Cancer from diagnosis to palliative and end of life care.
The Band 6 post holder will be required to undertake supporting and delivering treatment to patients following diagnosis through their cancer pathway and journey as well as supporting other professional colleagues within the wider multidisciplinary team. It would be desirable to already hold certificates in courses in advanced practice. Training in delivery of SACT chemotherapy regimens would be expected.
The Band 5 development post holder will require to undertake extensive training to achieve Post Graduate Certificates required to achieve CNS role, including SACT chemotherapy course, Non-medical Prescribing and Clinical Assessment for Advanced Practitioners. The successful applicant must be willing to evidence this commitment through recent personal development. They will assist in the day to day running of the chemotherapy unit and will be mentored by The Clinical Nurse Specialists to develop to the Band 6 position. This exciting role will allow the successful applicant to work alongside the Oncology & Palliative nursing team in the delivery of care across NHS Shetland. This post will primarily be hospital based but will require visiting patients at home so it is essential to hold a Current Full Driving Licence.
