NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people? Do you want to help people thrive, not just survive? Then this could be just the job you are looking for.
As an Activities Coordinator at Pulteney House in Wick you will be a valuable part of the team, helping to create a stimulating environment that enables us to deliver exceptional all-round care and support for our residents.
Part of the role as an Activities Coordinator will be spent getting to know residents and their families before creating tailored activities programmes focusing on maximising everyone's wellbeing, independence, and social engagement. You will then document the choices made within their plan of care.
The role also involves supporting residents to access activities in the community as well as providing support at mealtimes.
Applicants should have experience in working with people in a care setting and an interest in developing, organising and facilitating a range of activities to service users inside and outside the home.
Applicants should have the ability to undertake SVQ 2 and any relevant training, to enable registration with the SSSC or be willing to achieve this within 5 years of appointment.
This is a permanent full-time post of 37 hours working in line with service requirements.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
