We are recruiting for a graduate Project Engineer to join out team in our Fort William office.
Northern Light is a multi-disciplinary consultancy business operating principally in the construction, engineering, aquaculture and food production sectors. We deliver projects, strategy and innovation predominately to clients working within the blue economy.
Formed in 2013, we are growing fast, developing a strong team and diverse client base, including local businesses and several large multi-national organisations.
We are recruiting for a graduate Project Engineer to join out team in our Fort William office.
Essential requirements and attributes:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or construction discipline
- Graduated within the last 4 years
- No more than 12 months relevant graduate level work experience
- Good IT literacy, competent using all MS Office applications
- Excellent communication, people and team management skills
- Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
- Adaptability, flexibility and quick to learn
Requirements
The role is initially for a 12 month fixed term on a specific project, but is likely to develop into full time permanent employment.
The project will involve the development of 3D modelling and (potentially) GIS database systems and capability for the company. Full training in relevant software will be provided.
In the longer term, the role will include duties such as:
- Feasibility studies
- 3D modelling and design
- Site visits and surveys
- General project management tasks
- Planning and programming
- Procurement/ contract administration
Salary will be between £22,500 and £28,750 dependent on skills and experience. We offer 8 weeks holiday (including statutory holidays), private medical and contributory pension scheme, cyclescheme and techscheme.
You will initially be office based and you must live or be willing to relocate within commuting distance of Fort William. Your own car and driving licence are essential.
