An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Dietitian to join our friendly integrated adult hospital team based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The post holder will be expected to provide a specialist dietetic service in secondary care settings to adults living with cancer. This will include inpatients and outpatients. The post holder should be competent and experienced in the provision of complex nutritional care. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with multi-disciplinary teams taking a pro-active approach in the clinical care of patients, service improvement, education, implementing standards of best practice and pathway development.


Excellent working relationships exist with dietetic colleagues throughout NHS Tayside via the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service and the Tayside Nutrition Network to develop and implement evidence-based practice, receive peer support and help to progress Continuous Professional Development. There is also a commitment to training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Excellent inter-personal and communications skills and the ability to demonstrate good team working as well as being able to work autonomously are required. 


You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
