Duties will include sale of tickets and other rail service products, providing customers with information and assistance.  Maintenance/ cleaning of station environment including platforms, waiting areas and toilets, ensuring that the stations conform to the Service Quality Incentive Regime requirements. You will also be responsible for station shunting duties and dispatch of trains, ensuring that trains leave the station safey and puntually.

An enthusiastic individual with excellent communication/interpersonal and customer service skills.  An effective team player who can also demonstrate individual initiative. Should have a flexible approach to work.  Should be able to work under pressure whilst remaining calm. Must be punctual and have basic numeracy skills.  Ideally you will have customer service experience.

The post works 24 hours per week.  Monday - Friday 06.20 hours - 11.08 hours. Saturday 08.00 hours - 12.48 hours.  No Sundays.  You will work a 5 day week with a rolling rest day.

Hours of work: 35-hour week.  Reference Salary: £31,431 per annum pro rata. Training salary £21,193 per annum pro rata.

Selection process: Short-listed candidates will be invited to online assessment stage and if successfl be asked to attend an interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be a safety critical medical including drug and alcohol screening.  Appointees must provide a basic disclosure Scotland check and at least 2 satisfactory references and complete a six-month probation period.

Training: Training initially involves a 2-day Induction training programme

Medical Fitness:  Due to the nature of the post and rail industry safety requirments there are certain medical & fitness standards that you would require to meet.
