Community Psychiatric Nurse Team Leader

Band 7 £46,244 to £53,789 per annum

Plus £1,279 Distant Islands Allowance per annum

Full Time

 37 hours per week

Relocation assistance of up to £8,000 is available

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an inspiring and innovative CPN Team Leader for our Community Mental Health Team based in Balivanich, Isle of Uist. This is an exciting time in the Western Isles to be part of the Health and Social Care Partnership as we continue to develop our Community Mental Health Services to meet current and future needs. If you want to be at the forefront of service delivery and redesign, then this is the opportunity you have been looking for.


The post holder must be 1st level Registered Mental Health Nurse with experience in adult mental health services and leadership.


Candidates are expected to demonstrate their ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment and think creatively and flexibly around the delivery of Mental Health Nursing services.


You will be responsible for the delivery of the CPN Service 24/7 days a week and its accessibility to those who need it. The service plans to expand its on call service and you will be included in the 1 in 4 on call rota.


The Western Isles, also known as the Outer Hebrides, are a chain of islands which lie 55km off the west coast of Scotland. The islands have a population of around twenty-seven thousand people. Those who enjoy outdoor activities will find that the islands have a lot to offer. Outdoor pursuits such as horse riding, hiking, and fishing are popular, as are water sports such as canoeing, surfing, and kayaking. Further information about outdoor and sporting activities can be found on the Outer Hebrides Tourism Information website. The local Council website provides information regarding schools, jobs, bus timetables, and opening times of the leisure centre. The Health Board works in partnership with Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP), which means that Key Worker Status will form part of their Housing Allocation Policy.


The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is eligible for relocation expenses.
