NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Nurse Practitioner to join the Community Nursing Team on the Isle of Raasay. You will work supporting both the Community Nurses and Care at Home staff to provide nursing and social care to the island’s community.
Applications are invited from suitably experienced, self-motivated individuals who are able to evidence relevant clinical knowledge and skills, and have an interest in working in a remote and rural setting.
Accommodation may be available to rent on Raasay to promote and maximise the viability of reliably working in a remote island.
Raasay offers a rare opportunity to provide cradle to grave personal nursing care, while working as part of a mutually supportive team. You will have a considerable degree of autonomy in your role, taking direction from the Community Nurse on shift, and liaising with social care colleagues and other professionals based on North Skye.
The successful candidate will be adaptable, resourceful and confident working without direct supervision and be responsible for:
Implementing nursing / care plans under the direction of clinical practitioners.
Offering support, supervision and training to care at home staff.
Participation in case conferences or MDT meetings as required.
Participate in general running of the clinic to include ordering, stock control etc.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
For an informal discussion, please contact:

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
The application for this job will open in a new window on the employer's own website.
