Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Business & Commercial Banking and Corporate & Institutional Banking (BCB & CIB) People Partnering team for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. This role reports directly into the People Director and works closely alongside the wider team of People Partners, People Advisors and COE team members to deliver key HR priorities for the business areas.
A day in the life of a People Partner is fast paced and constantly evolving! A People Partner works on all aspects of the colleague lifecycle across topics such as strategic workforce planning, recruitment, culture, organisation design, talent management, reward, learning & development, people risk, and many more. We spend a lot of time talking to business leaders, managers and our People & Places (P&P) colleagues; everything we do is about connecting and building positive relationships.
BCB and CIB are made up of around 10,000 colleagues. These colleagues deliver critical work for the Group and support our commercial clients of all sizes, from local businesses to large multinationals. There is also a large back-office operation within BCB and CIB, covering everything from Product teams to operations, which keeps the business running. With the amount of change across the Group, it’s a really exciting part of the organisation to work in, where no two days will be the same. We are committed to building a digitally-led, high performing, collaborative and inclusive business
As one of our People Partners, you have the outstanding opportunity to sit around the leadership table, working with both our business leaders and our colleagues in P&P and the wider Group to craft and deliver the people agenda. Our team is kind, encouraging and committed to making each other successful, learning together as we go. We may be biased, but we believe it’s a wonderful team to be a part of!
What we need from you!
- Excellent relationship management, influencing and coaching skills, developing trust through integrity and authenticity.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to see the bigger picture, tell stories and connect dots.
- Innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative approach, thriving as a team member
- The ability to prioritise effectively and focus on what truly matters.
- Strong skills in analysing multiple data sources to inform planning and decision-making.
- Organisational and industry awareness with a passion for bringing the outside in.
- Experience of working within HR as a Business Partner, ideally in FS but other adjacent industries will be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong and trusted relationships with executives in the BCB & CIB leadership teams, acting as their people partner and collaborating with P&P colleagues to fulfil their requirements.
- Develop and execute the people strategy for the business area, aligned with the Group People Plan and the BCB & CIB Culture plans, championing our Group purpose and values to enable the business to succeed.
- Enhance the capability within the business area, ensuring that colleagues have the skills needed for the future, and investing in the growth and effectiveness of the leadership team.
- Support the leadership teams in implementing and embedding P&P initiatives, products, and policy changes, such as Performance Management, Flexibility Works, Culture Catalysts, and Your Best.
- Provide support and coaching to leaders and managers relating to complex colleague cases.
