Working for a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP): MSPs are employers in their own right. Under their employment, you will become part of a team supporting them in carrying out their duties. You'll work in a dynamic and fast paced environment to provide an outstanding service for constituents.
About The Role:
Location: Local Office in Huntly
Hours: Part-time – 22.5 hours per week (Flexible)
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 pro rata
- Performing casework-related research and corresponding with constituents and local campaign groups.
- Drafting briefings to update constituents and the Member on key issues.
- Communicating with Government departments, local councils and other organisations and parliamentary officials.
- Organising and attending surgeries and events in the constituency
- Assisting the Member and the team in running local campaigns on constituency issues.
- Writing external communications.
Requirements
About You:
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with accurate attention to detail.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach, being able to use good judgement on own initiative.
- Be well organised with the ability to prioritise competing workloads to meet the demands of a busy office.
- Ability to work independently and be a team player; enthusiastic and reliable.
- IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
