We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated individual to join a dynamic busy ultrasound team.
The post is within the Obstetric Scan Dept/ Fetal Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The department performs obstetric ultrasound scans for all stages of pregnancy and emergency gynaecology.
Excellent IT and communication skills are essential for this post. You should be able to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous obstetric experience is preferable but not essential.
You would be expected to have an awareness of patient emotions after unexpected outcomes and have an empathetic and supportive demeanour.
Responsibilities include –
Working with IT applications such as PMS, Microsoft word, Radiology Information System, Badgernet and Excel.
Working in conjunction with and chaperoning the midwife sonographers to provide a high standard of care to pregnant women in the Highlands.
Welcoming patients and checking patient demographics, booking all scan appointments and managing scan lists.
Tidying and cleaning of ultrasound equipment.
PECOS ordering.
Liaising with all obstetric multidisciplinary team members.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
