We are looking for a nursing professional for an exciting and challenging research post within the Specialities Research Team based at Woodend Hospital. The post holder will be working mainly on orthopaedic research studies during the training phase of post. This post will contribute to developing and supporting research locally at NHS Grampian. The post holder will be enabled to develop the research nurse skills required to deliver exceptional clinical research care to patients involved in clinical trials. You will be part of a well-established team of research nurses who will assist in training and mentoring.

The post holder will be involved in the delivery of direct/indirect care and treatments of those participating in research trials. This will include trial set up processes, recruitment, monitoring of study patients, collection of accurate data and liaising with data monitors. The main duties/responsibilities of the post will be in under the direction of the Research team with additional guidance from the senior research nurse.

Previous experience in research and/or orthopaedics would be an advantage. However, consideration will be given to the right calibre of candidate with little or no previous experience, with a keen willingness to learn, in a developing role. The incumbent will require excellent communication skills, the ability to work flexibly in response to study challenges and be able to manage caseload appropriately to the highest standard expected within research.
