This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the senior management team as a Clinical Care Group Manager for Unscheduled Medicine Clinical Care Gorup within the Medicine Division.

Evidence of leadership and management experience at a senior level in a multifaceted healthcare environment is essential, delivering successful strategic and operational priorities and clearly demonstrating improvement in the quality of services delivered.  You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have experience of advising senior organisational leaders about options regarding service quality improvements. You will also have experience of managing change in a complex environment and be able to demonstrate an ability to work innovatively to achieve the best outcome for patients.

The Clinical Care Group Manager provides managerial leadership as part of a triumvirate within the Clinical Care Group, working collaboratively across the health and care system to support the delivery of high-quality person-centred care.  Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and working with partner organisations, locally and nationally, is essential.  A working knowledge of the clinical services, service planning and managing performance against local and national priorities is also considered essential.

You will have support from the senior team in the Medicine Division and work closely with the Associate Director for Medicine, Associate Medical Director and Associate Nurse Director and other Clinical Care Group Managers.

This role has a Tayside wide portfolio and there will be an expectation to work across Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary to ensure services are appropriately supported (minimum 2 days per week in Perth Royal Infirmary).

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager who has Acute Services experience to work within Unscheduled Medicine.

Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.

Hours of work are:  1 full-time post ~ 37.hrs per week

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.

Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.

A 10-minute presentation will form part of the recruitment process.  The title of the presentation will be shared with all shortlisted candidates, 1 week prior to interview.
