Do you have an interest and skill set to provide clinical expertise and leadership in Surgical Dietetic Services as part of an Integrated Adult Hospital Team?

We are looking for a experienced dietitian to join the Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service in a leadership role for surgical services. The person will provide a specialist nutrition and dietetic clinical service to adults undergoing surgical procedures, provide leadership in project work, audit and research. The post holder should be competent and experienced in the provision of complex nutritional care.

The post holder will lead a small clinical team and contribute to the joint operational leadership of the integrated adult nutrition and dietetic service in Ninewells Hospital and may be required to provide clinical support to other hospital teams.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with a multi-disciplinary team taking a pro-active approach in the clinical care of patients, service improvement, education and pathway development.

 The Tayside Nutrition & Dietetic Service promotes collaborative working across all our teams in different settings and specialities. This enables and encourages the development and implementation of pathways, standards and innovative practice. It also allows for extensive peer support and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to the training of dietetic students, medical students and other healthcare professionals.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation and leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate good team working are required.

You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Hours of work are: 37.0 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.  

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
