This post is an exciting opportunity to deliver psychological services within the Moray based Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for this permanent post. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to support the continued development of specialist psychological services in Moray Integrated Drug and Alcohol Service to help develop and support the implementation of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT Standards).  The post holder will provide a specialist clinical psychology service for adults who present with problematic drug and/or alcohol use and co-occurring mental health difficulties, experience of working in the area or Drug and Alcohol Use is desirable. 

The post holder will have a HCPC recognised post-grad (Doctorate) qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, hold HCPC Registration as a registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, and have suitable experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams and offering highly specialist psychological therapies to those presenting with complex mental health presentations, preferably within the NHS.  Experience of working in drug and alcohol services is desirable.

The post holder will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team in the Moray Integrated Drug & Alcohol Service (MIDAS).  The post will be supported by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Grampian Integrated Drug and Alcohol Psychology Service and Consultant Professional Lead in in the Specialisms Directorate (NHS Grampian).

This role provides an exciting opportunity for a psychologist to deliver evidence-based highly specialist interventions to a population with complex needs and challenges. It also provides ample opportunity for the individual to work at strategic level to develop interventions and training packages and to support and supervise non-psychologists in the delivery of low intensity interventions. Grampian Psychological Services have strong links to the University of Edinburgh/NHS Scotland Clinical Psychology Training Programme and there are opportunities to become involved in teaching as well as offering clinical placements to trainee clinical psychologists.

Moray lies in the north-east of Scotland, with coastline on the Moray Firth, and borders the areas of Aberdeenshire and Highland. The area offers a wide range of recreational activities such as golf, fishing, hill walking, surfing, canoeing, cycling, horse riding and winter sports. This is an opportunity to live and work in a beautiful part of Scotland that offers a great quality of life and has good transport links with the rest of the UK.

Interview expenses are available to all candidates and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 is available to the successful candidate.
