We are seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Health and Social Care Occupational Therapy Service. We are based in Cowal Community Hospital in Dunoon and cover the beautiful Cowal peninsula of Argyll and Bute.
You would be part of a dynamic and dedicated team providing a client centred, seamless service to in-patients within Cowal Community Hospital and into the local community. You will be involved in the assessment, rehabilitation, provision of equipment and minor/major adaptations for adults with physical disability or illness. The role is varied and can include rapid response work as part of the Extended Community Care Team to prevent hospital admissions and facilitate hospital discharges.
You will need to be flexible and be able to prioritise and manage your time effectively. We work very closely with our Community Nursing, AHP, Social work and Care and Repair colleagues. We also enjoy good relationships with our GP Practices. Good communication skills and multi disciplinary team working are essential. Knowledge and experience of both health and social care OT practice would be advantageous, however, you will be supported from experienced band 6 staff and the OT Team Lead to reach your potential and we welcome new graduates for this reason.
HCPC registration and a full driving licence are essential.
Part time or Job Share would be considered.
Dunoon is easily commutable from Glasgow and Inverclyde.
To discuss further please contact Natasha Morrison, Occupational Therapy Team Lead for Cowal on 01369 763450 or email nhsh.cowalcommunityservices@nhs.scot

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
The application for this job will open in a new window on the employer's own website.
