We are seeking a dynamic individual to provide a highly specialist clinical psychology service to adults with a learning disability for the post of permanent 0.8wte Principal Clinical Psychologist to support the work of the multidisciplinary and multiagency teams.  This will also involve supporting and developing teaching packages and pathways, as well as service evaluation and development.

There are 5 other qualified staff working across Grampian within the community learning disability teams. There are close links with the D Clin Psych/ Edinburgh University and the service routinely provides core and specialist placements for trainees completing this course. The service actively supports practitioners’ clinical and research interests and there is a regular programme of CPD and opportunities for group and individual supervision.

Aberdeen is situated in the North East of Scotland with an easily accessible airport just 15 minutes from the city centre so staying connected to the whole of the UK and beyond is not a problem, eg fly to London in just over an hour at reasonable prices. Elgin lies on the South Coast of the Moray Firth, situated in the North East of Scotland.  Grampian is an area of outstanding natural beauty with a stunning coastline populated by dolphins. For those with family, Aberdeen boasts some of the best schools in Scotland whilst the vibrant local economy provides a range of job opportunities for partners. The area also offers a chance to pursue a wide range of outdoor activities and sports.

There is possibility of additional sessions at 8B on a fixed-term bases and hybrid working is supported. 

The interview will be conducted remotely and an attractive relocation allowance of up to £8000 may be available to successful candidates.
