Location: West Tullos Depot, Aberdeen

Duration: Permanent, Full Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

job purpose/about the role

The Road operative 3 will be responsible for working as part of a team to contribute
towards maintaining the road network.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Full Driving License
Class C Driving Licence with CPC Certificate

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Experience supervising and co-ordinating resources
Proven ability to work on own initiative within a squad
Proven ability to take a logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
Proven ability to support the management of contracts and associated contractors
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven ability to communicate effectively
Proven ability to manage a real time workload while delivering on key objectives.
Proven ability to carry out Supervision
Proven ability to monitor and implement Health and Safety requirements
