Fish Farmer wanted to work on a land-based salmon farm in West Ireland (20 minutes North of Galway).
Summary:
Since December 2023, Cold Water Salmon Ltd has been undertaking the renovation and modernization of a fish farm to aim to produce salmon (Salmo salar) in a recirculated RAS system (smolt and grow-out on site).
The site already contains the first generations of juveniles since January, relaunched with the systems already in operation. At the same time, recirculating units are under construction.
We are therefore looking for a profile with:
· Theoretical and practical basis in fish farming
· The possibility and desire to emigrate to Ireland
· Pro-active and having a good capacity to adapt
· “DIY” skills would be an asset
· An average level of English, being the minimum (multilingual team)
· Basic computer skills (Microsoft 365)
· Excellent ability to listen and communicate with the team
We offer:
· An annual salary of €37,000.00 gross/year, being the salary base for this type of position
· The possibility of initially staying on site (during the trial period to begin with)
· The company undertakes to provide support in advance of the deposit for a possible flat rental
· Provision of a vehicle (to share with other members of the team)
Other arrangements may be granted depending on the profile (experience; availability etc.)
Requirements once on site:
· Provision of a professional telephone which is also used for alarms (never put aside and ensure its in operation during work/ alarm duty).
· It is imperative to respect basics biosecurity
· Accept 1 weekend alarm and guard duty out of 2 (pay or compensatory rest depending on the activity on site)
