We are seeking to recruit a Healthcare Support worker to provide care and support to a young girl with complex health needs. The post is 29.6 hours per week and involves working in the family home providing overnight care, this will be three nights per week on a rota basis.
This is a fixed term post until November 2025.
This post is under the remit of the Integrated Child Health Team, with line management provided by the Community Children’s Nurse and Child Health Manager.
The post holder will support the family by providing an overnight, person centred plan of care.
The plan of care includes, personal care with additional requirements to care for both a trachesotomy and gastrostomy.
Full training and support will be provided.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with health needs and be familiar with working in a home environment.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
