JOB TITLE: Markets Client Documentation Manager, Control Office

SALARY: £62,500+ dependent on experience

LOCATIONS: Birmingham / Bristol / Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About This Opportunity

We have a new opportunity for a Markets Client Documentation Manager to join our Control Office Team in our Corporate & Institutional Banking Chief Operating Office (CIB COO) division.
 

You'll use your expertise in markets client documentation requirements, including Dodd-Frank Disclosures, PRIIPS documentation, sales documentation and more broadly product and business terms which we're required to provide clients access to, to support the business in delivering good client outcomes.
 

You'll provide insightful, high-quality analysis and evaluation of client documentation within CIB, in alignment with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF). Working alongside Product Owners you’ll support the design, optimisation and process mapping of the End-to-End control environment for on a cyclical basis.
 

High level accountabilities:

  • Client Documentation subject matter expert who works with product, risk and control owner as well as risk specialist teams to help deliver against aligned customer, business and strategic outcomes in a timely manner.

  • Build and maintain a cross-functional internal network to support and coordinate applicable controls as established by the business.

  • Analyses and assesses control environment effectiveness using a wide range of sources and identifies potential impacts on client documentation.

  • Supports development and implementation of control strategy to monitor and test the effectiveness of the control environment across processes as well as development of control tooling solutions to enable the optimisation and automation.

  • Organises and prepares documentation, while also gathering and summarising data and information, for the benefit of partners.

  • Supports timely reporting on the effectiveness and performance of controls and compliance through maintaining effective data quality (KCIs), completeness and accuracy of testing and monitoring activities.

  • Assists in the management of actions on operational risk events and breaches following Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) as they pertain to client documentation.

  • Identifies issues and then suggests and implements improvements to control environment with guidance from senior colleagues.

  • Ensure CIB remain aware of regulatory documentation requirements, monitor and facilitate the effective operation of controls, and other involvement in a variety of relevant control related projects as the Business Areas seek to implement the Group’s strategy to grow, focus and change at pace.

  • Markets Client Documentation subject matter expert - technical knowledge of what client documentation we as a business are required to produce.

  • Partner Management – build effective working relationships with key contacts across business functions in the division.

  • Regulatory awareness of what would require markets client documentation reviews/amendments

  • Control driven approach to improving client documentation in line with risk frameworks and business strategy.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required including to explain controls in reference to the CIB requirements in everyday language.

  • Delivering Results – an ability to prioritise and deliver to sometimes tight timeframes is important.

  • Innovates to go faster by taking ownership for challenging existing processes; being an early adopter of change and viewing advancements in technology as opportunities to help us deliver for our customers.

And Any Experience Of These Would Be Really Useful

  • CIB product knowledge and understanding with experience in the markets business

  • Organisational Awareness – understanding the businesses would be advantageous within the role.

  • A strategic approach to ensure that the work required for client documentation reviews and enhancements are completed in an effective manner

  • Embracing diverse viewpoints; demonstrated in the way they do business and collaborate with others. Demonstrates a growth learning mentality and is open to new experiences to intentionally grow their individual and team skill.
