JOB TITLE: Assistant Manager, Finance Product Control

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh

Salary: 42,120 - £46,800

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our Edinburgh office
 

About this opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Professional to join us in our Product Control team in Edinburgh. A small, but tight knit team, Product Control is a key interface between the activity undertaken by the Commercial Banking and Treasury desks and the financials reported in the general ledger. The team is responsible for verifying, translating and explaining ‘accounting’ data to ensure it correctly reflects what the business is expecting.
 

In this role you’ll be responsible for reporting the PnL on the SPV’s and within Group Corporate Treasury. Weekly PnL reporting is required. Where the package structures hold an embedded derivative, daily mark to market PnL’s are required.

Day to day you’ll be involved in;

  • Supporting your line manager to manage the Front Office.
  • Supporting the booking of new, sophisticated transactions, providing information to partners as and when required.
  • Preparation of weekly Profit & Loss production, reconciliations, explain market-based commentary, sign offs, issue resolution and partner concern.
  • Supporting the month end close processes associated with accurately reporting and independently validating the bank’s balance sheet in a timely manner.

What you’ll need

  • Qualified accountant or in the latter stages of qualification.
  • Finance professional with a proven track record gained in a range of roles and/or proven depth of knowledge within their specialism.
  • Understanding of relevant business systems, along with practical understanding of financial systems and processes
  • Ability to utilise and manipulate spreadsheets, produce formatted charts and use sophisticated formulae and pivot tables.
  • Able to work in a fast paced & changing environment, whilst supporting the delivery of solutions to urgent ad hoc queries and requests from partners.
