About this opportunity

We launched the Dundee Tech School in November 2023 with the first cohort of 12 Junior Developers who underwent a 20-week Engineering training programme before joining their business teams under supervision of the Tech School Lead.  Following its’ success, we’re now looking to recruit approx. 20 more roles that will make up 2 teams to deliver our Gamification initiative.

As part of our Dundee based Tech School cohort, you will be supported in upskilling through a structured 9-week training programme before becoming an integral part of a feature team within our Customer Waterfront Lab evolving our Digital Channels.

Our mission is to help customers feel confident and in control of their finances, now and into the future. We’re building a new future for financial wellbeing, helping customers understand the big picture and making it easy for them to protect what matters.  Our services are accessible for everyone, no matter what their income is or how comfortable they are with financial jargon, and we work hard to make sure we’re there for customers in the moments that matter. We’re bold and we love to experiment. We’re not afraid to try out new ways of working and we encourage teams to be flexible and adaptive.

As part of our Dundee based team, you will oversee 2 feature teams evolving our Mobile and Web offerings to improving digital engagement, learning and gamification aspects to provide best in class experience to the customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven candidate who can provide hands-on engineering leadership and expertise to a full-stack mobile app team. You will be passionate and experienced in designing and delivering scalable mobile applications and/or API platforms.

What will you be doing with us?

  • Lead a full-stack feature team of mobile, API and quality engineers with a focus on predictable delivery and engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate with fellow leads, solution architects, UI/UX designers, and product owners to define roadmaps, technical designs and unblock delivery.
  • Lead by example by being a hands-on contributor to the codebase and providing oversight and feedback via pull requests.
  • Demonstrate leadership for mobile architecture or API and microservice design with deep knowledge in your specialist domain (iOS, Android or API/microservice).
  • Provide line-management and personal development support for engineering team members
