About the Department
Our Alternative Investment Strategies (AIS) desk is dedicated to researching, selecting, and monitoring hedge fund managers and alternative investment products. This department is focused on identifying investment opportunities that align with our goal of delivering exceptional value for our clients.
About the Role
We are seeking a Hedge Fund Research Analyst to join our AIS team. In this role, you will be responsible for hedge fund manager research, selection, and monitoring of alternative products, while also supporting various projects within the department. You will play a key role in providing insights and recommendations on hedge fund strategies and investment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare clear and comprehensive meeting notes and due diligence reports on managers, both pre- and post-investment.
Develop and maintain quantitative models to support investment analysis.
Source new hedge fund managers and drive the diligence process.
Stay informed about investment opportunities in hedge fund strategies and sub-strategies, sharing this information with the AIS team.
Present investment opportunities to the manager approval and investment committee.
Create educational research content and materials (e.g., blogs, Thought Pieces, White Papers) for investors, articulating the potential benefits, risks, and return characteristics of various hedge fund offerings.
Collaborate with strategic partners to gather market intelligence and communicate findings to the AIS team and our clients.
Support projects assigned by the Head of Investments, Director of Research, or Strategy Leads.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Strong experience in the investment management industry, preferably with a background in hedge fund manager research or experience in alternative assets.
Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, with the ability to create and maintain research materials.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior professionals.
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
