The Learning Disability Housing Support & Care at Home Service is looking for a dedicated and motivated Support Worker (30 hours per week) to join our team.
The team delivers a high standard of support to adults with learning disabilities and additional health needs in the supported people’s own home and in their community. To enable the people we support fully engage with their communities, the successful team member will be supported to carry out mandatory training in Moving & Handling, administration medication and skills to support people with their personal care needs. The post holder will have a positive attitude towards people with a learning disability, will have excellent communication skills, be a great team player but also able to work confidently on their own when required.
Our team delivers support 24 hours a day, operating a shift system which includes weekend work, with appropriate pay enhancements being paid for unsociable hours.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake and achieve SVQ Level 3, along with all additional training designated as relevant to the post, Registration the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and Scottish Social Services Scotland (SSSC) is mandatory.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
