The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance

This is a career progression post and salary will depend on qualifications and experience. Progression through the grades is dependent on the successful applicant gaining the required qualifications, knowledge and experience.

We are looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor/Chartered Quantity Surveyor to join an established Surveying team within Neighbourhood Services and Infrastructure.

Our workload currently covers Quantity Surveying duties and contract management for our new build, refurbishment and maintenance programmes.

You should be able to demonstrate the full range of professional duties associated with quantity surveying, with a good understanding of construction detailing, materials specification, contract administration and project management, together with an understanding of contract issues and CDM Regulations.

To be appointed at Grade G:
You should hold an HND or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying.

To be appointed at/progression to Grade H:
You should hold a Degree or equivalent SCQF level 9 qualification in Quantity Surveying and be a member of RICS or equivalent AND achieve chartered status within 5 years.

To be appointed at/progression to Grade I:
You should hold a Degree or equivalent SCQF level 9 qualification in Quantity Surveying and be a full chartered member of RICS or equivalent.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
