An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide specialist physiotherapy intervention in Fracture/Virtual clinics within Perth Royal infirmary.  This post holder will provide early intervention physiotherapy input to patients and alongside collaborative working with the APP and MSK Lead, triage onward referrals thus reducing the number of patients requiring multiple appointments within Consultant led fracture clinics, nurse led clinics and Physiotherapy Departments.


You should have demonstrable clinical skills/knowledge as evidenced in your CPD portfolio with comprehensible knowledge of best practice/clinical guidelines/pathways and standards across Orthopaedics and general MSK presentations.


You should be an advanced level Musculoskeletal practitioner who will conduct both trauma specialist clinics in partnership with, and independent of, Consultant and medical staff.  You will have a self generated case load incorporating comprehensive examinations of Trauma presentations and make complex clinical decisions to determine the appropriate pathway for the patient e.g. diagnostics, therapy or surgical interventions. You may carry out or request clinical investigations or examinations from other disciplines in order to complete your examination.


Ongoing personal and professional development is essential to provide a quality service and is supported through CPD workshops, TURAS appraisal, IST and involvement within Tayside Practice Development Group.  You will be an integral part of the Orthopaedic/MSK team with responsibility in teaching both qualified and Student staff and be involved with peer review with APP and other Band 7 colleagues.
