We’re looking for a Mechanical Workshop Engineer based out of our Swindon site.

What you’ll do:

  • Fault Finding/Repair of diesel generators

  • Load testing of generators 20-2000KVA

  • Major engine repairs and overhauls

  • Assess genset condition on returning fleet to SRC

  • Modification/upgrades to genset fleet

  • Knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems

  • Knowledge of engine ECM programming/diagnostics would be advantageous

  • Programming of control modules

The duties described above cover the focus of the role, however from time to time you may be required to carry out any other duties which are reasonable and within your abilities to support other areas of the business.

You’ll have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering/mechanical subject (can include apprenticeship)

  • Experience servicing, repairing large engines (generators, HGV, plant equipment, agricultural machinery)

  • Good organisational & communication skills

  • Good level of PC literacy including basic MS Office applications

  • Well organised and capable of keeping vehicle to GSCS standards
