JOB TITLE: Personal Assistant to the General Counsel, Litigation & Contentious RegulatoryLOCATION(S): Bristol, Cardiff, Chester, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our Legal & Secretariat (L&S) Hubs.
We are looking for a full-time Personal Assistant to provide support to our General Counsel for Litigation & Contentious Regulatory (LCR). In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a genuinely open and dynamic environment that cultivates personal and professional growth.

About the team
Join our dynamic LCR team, led by General Counsel. We are a forward looking and exciting part of the Legal function! The General Counsel’s office helps to oversee the smooth running of LCR and contributes to a number of wider L&S workstreams too. LCR provides expert advice and support to businesses and functions across the Group in relation to disputes and contentious regulatory matters. Our overall purpose is to partner with empathy, courage and creativity to Help Britain Recover and Prosper.
A typical day
As a Personal Assistant, you will be an integral part of the LCR Executive Office. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for the General Counsel, establishing effective relationships with business leaders and colleagues across the Group.
- Efficiently managing the General Counsel's diary to ensure optimal use of their time.
- Handling incoming queries, prioritising them, and engaging with senior colleagues to resolve them.
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the business to provide effective support.
- Working with other Executive Office teams across L&S and the Group and developing your peer network.
- Coordinating central processes such as Workday, expense management, and event organisation.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who has:
- Strong organisational skills to ensure the General Counsel is well-prepared for meetings and commitments.
- Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, especially in working closely with senior individuals.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and sometimes multiple demands.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and people skills, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of effectively communicating with individuals across various levels of the organization.
- High personal integrity and the ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
- A flexible and collaborative approach to adapt to different leadership styles and business processes.
