Are you a ready to take on a new challenge?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the stroke team on a part-time basis to provide specialist clinical advice to patients with stroke, their families and carers. The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team to develop high quality, cost effective, patient centred, stroke service across NHS Highland. As Stroke coordinator, you would be required to facilitate training and education for staff , patients and carers across NHS Highland. This will include delivering training to the multidisciplinary team, developing , maintaining and sustaining training and education , working with the Stroke steering group and others to develop and implement stroke services. Audit and evaluation of the service and support of the neuro-vascular clinic are also key components of this job.
This post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional boundaries and a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient care. This post requires you to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team and as an autonomous practitioner. You should possess good interpersonal skills and a commitment to joint working.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience with at least 2 years in Stroke, rehabilitation and interdisciplinary working.
A teaching qualification or relevant experience is essential to the role. Relevant degree or qualification in stroke care and proven counselling skills would be an advantage but training may be provided for the right candidate. You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, be highly organised and have good IT skills. Travel is required as part of this role and a full drivers licence is required.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
