We are delighted to share that we are searching for a Time Served Electrical Technician to join our team at our Engineering Centre based on the stunning island of Islay

Salary of £57,267 + competitive benefits package including pension, shares scheme and bonus!

About the role

The team at Islay Engineering Centre deliver improved asset reliability and world class resource utilisation through planning and execution of maintenance tasks and positively contributes to a World Class outlook and actively support the development and successful implementation of strategies to achieve this aim.

Electrical Technicians are primarily responsible for Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance & repair, and should have a keen eye for problem solving. Following Health and Safety policy as well as ensuring it is adhered to on sites is a crucial element of life as a technician. You will own and drive asset care IMPROVE activity both directly at site and within the asset care community. Actively taking part in root cause problem solving activities and providing subject matter expertise to ensure required fixes are identified, actioned and implemented promptly. The right candidate will work Closely with operations teams, CAPEX and other maintenance groups (Mech & C&I) to improve efficiency of operational assets

Key points you would be responsible for are:

  • Attend asset care/CAPEX/Silent season review meetings along with Maintenance Managers – providing specialist insight into plans

  • Deliver maintenance activities for respective engineering centre/site in accordance with a weekly/daily asset care delivery plan.

  • Ensuring the accurate and regular update of Maintenance Systems.

This role is based around a standard working week; however it does include an on-call rota which will require some weekend and evening work.

About You

Do you have a positive can-do demeanour, and the ability to make decisions fast, while dealing with high pressure situations?

The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external parties.

To be successful in this role, you will need;

  • HNC level qualification in Electrical engineering or equivalent

  • Hands-on engineering experience as a time-served electrical engineer

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to all levels across the plant

  • Ability to organise a variety of tasks and prioritise self and others accordingly

  • Full UK driving license with the necessary requirements to drive company vehicles.
