JOB TITLE:  Colleague Experience Lead (IP&I)

SALARY: £73,262 - £86,190

LOCATION: Edinburgh, Bristol or Leeds

HOURS:  Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site

You’ll have a chance to shape our CIO Technology strategy, our architecture decisions and emerging technology that will drive customer and colleague improvements.

We are seeking a proactive Colleague Experience Lead to drive initiatives that enhance the overall experience of our CIO teams across our platforms. In this role, you will focus on improving how our CIO colleagues interact with tools, processes, and the workplace environment, ensuring a high level of engagement, satisfaction, and productivity. As a key advocate our colleagues, you will collaborate with stakeholders and leadership, to implement strategies that foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.

As the Colleague Experience Lead, you will:

  • Employee Experience - Develop and implement strategies to improve the end-to-end colleague experience across our CIO teams and platforms, ensuring they have the tools, support, and resources to thrive in their roles
  • Engagement Programs - Design and lead initiatives to enhance colleague engagement, recognition efforts, career development opportunities, and team-building activities tailored to the needs of our teams.
  • Feedback & Insights – Regularly engage, collect and analyse feedback from colleagues through surveys, focus groups, communication channels and leadership interactions. Use these insights to recommend and implement improvements to the colleague experience.
  • Onboarding & Training – work collaboratively with stakeholders and the leadership team to create and enhance onboarding, training, and development programs that ensure new and existing colleagues feel supported, engaged, and well-equipped for success.
  • Technology Tools & Workspace Optimisation - Work closely with IT to assess and optimise the tools and work environments that colleagues use daily, ensuring a seamless, efficient, user-friendly and positive colleague experience, identifying opportunities to enhance the physical and digital work environment.
  • Culture Building - Collaborate with leadership and teams to promote a positive work culture that encourages collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the technology teams.
  • Communication & Collaboration -  Ensuring effective communication and promoting transparency. Facilitate regular touchpoints to keep colleagues informed about important initiatives, changes, and opportunities.
  • Employee Recognition - Implement and manage Gamechangers to celebrate achievements, milestones, and exceptional contributions, fostering a sense of value and belonging.

What you’ll need

  • Experience in technology strategy, IT leadership, or a similar role, with a proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies.
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their potential impact on business processes and industry trends.
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable technology strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management is key at a senior level including MD / Exec level.
  • Experience of leading teams ensuring high performance whilst collaborating effectively with partners across the Group, including Audit and other partners
  • Strong Financial Services background
  • Thought leadership and reporting skills
  • Experience of dealing with high levels of ambiguity with an ability to understand and interpret large quantities of data / information and detail at speed; to filter out noise and investigate when necessary to get to the challenges, making succinct recommendations based on data trends
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective reporting on team delivery and performance
  • A background of CIO and IP&I would be advantageous
