The Surgical Unit at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin wishes to recruit 2 Specialist Doctors in General Surgery to join a team of 3 Consultant General Surgeons. The posts are permanent, full time positions (10 PA’s)


Dr Gray’s Hospital is situated in Elgin, the county town of Moray. The surrounding area is considered to be of outstanding natural beauty. This post offers a unique opportunity to practice surgery in an area with a high quality of life, excellent schools, affordable housing and superb recreational facilities.


The Hospital serves a population of about 132,000 and provides emergency and elective general surgical services within the hospital and at selected community hospitals. There are good links with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary which is a Tertiary Referral and Major Trauma Centre.  Supporting staff include 2 Specialist Trainees, 1 Core Trainee and 4 Foundation Doctors. The Hospital enjoys a strong association with the University of Aberdeen and takes final year medical students.


The post requires wide experience of elective and emergency general surgery.


Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).  For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
