ScottishPower portfolio will undergo a significant property transformation programme over the next few years! As such we’re looking for a Head of Delivery to join our General Services function to play a critical role steering large scale investment projects from conception through to inception.

A newly created role, reporting into the Operations Director, you will establish a delivery strategy for a 10-year rolling programme encompassing robust risk management strategies, providing technical oversight, governance and guidance to your team to ensure the programme of works is appropriately controlled and successfully delivered.

This is a senior role sitting within the General Services leadership team, with direct line management and leadership of third-party partnerships and contractors.

What you’ll be doing

As Head of Delivery, you’ll set strategies and plans for General Services Capital Works Delivery Programme including defining project scope, goals and deliverables, and own the full project lifecycle to ensure delivery on time, within budget and with safety at the forefront of everything we deliver.

You’ll lead the capex and building surveying PMOs including the responsibility for financial management, budget control, resource and performance management of teams and supporting third party contractors and suppliers.

Lead project meetings and provide regular updates and reporting to senior management on project progress, challenges and changes. Conduct post project evaluations to access outcomes, identify lessons learns and support future project planning.

Provide construction and procurement advice and strategy across the programme of works, as well as ensure compliance with policies and guidance promoting a safety first approach.

Manage and oversee the development of technical specifications for General Services Commercial Contract team and own and implement the risk strategy across all strategic, programme and project based activity.

What you’ll bring

Educated to degree level with significant work experience supported by RICS or APM qualification within a project management, CIOB or building surveying professional body is desirable.

Supported by years of general business experience in a variety of management roles, you’ll be an expert in the delivery of large capital works programmes and experienced operating at a senior level, able to lead multiple mixed use fit-out, repurposing, new build programmes, as well as building surveying initiatives including office and depot.

Demonstrable experience leading a PMO and technical to appraise and critic design teams ensuring innovative solutions and value add.

Engineering experience reflecting major risk and financial management is essential, as well as extensive experience of project planning, implementation and management whilst managing simultaneous long and short-term projects.

Experience in data process, governance, and controls desirable.

An experienced leader and manager of multifaceted teams across different geographical locations who can effectively communicate, inspire, and motivate team members to drive results and achieve best performance outcomes. Proven experience negotiating and influencing influential internal and external stakeholders and can report at C-level to support future decision making.
