Reinforcing security architecture and engineering functions is critical to delivering and maintaining controls, being compliant with NIS regulations, and providing cyber resilience more broadly. 

Aligning to the Iberdrola Group global Cyber Security Strategy, the Head of Security Architecture and Delivery will ensure the long-term strategic security vision is in place across ScottishPower Renewables. The role is accountable for the overall Security Architecture strategy and the delivery of technical controls for the Security vision. 

What you’ll be doing

Taking a strategic view across ScottishPower Renewable’s various business interests, the Head of Security Architecture and Delivery will ensure that the overall Security Strategy, and delivery plans are executed against control standards. The role will maintain overall responsibility for the Systems Security Strategic roadmap, ensuring that all functions that rely on network and information systems are protected, resilient and prepared against cyber incidents.

The role will also ensure compliance and alignment with the overall Iberdrola Cyber Security Strategy and SPR’s regulatory obligations. 

You’ll be accountable for leading the Security Architecture and Security Engineering function, providing thought leadership on emerging technologies. You’ll liaise with the local and global architecture community and other senior IT and Business partners, guiding security-related matters. 

The Head of Security Architecture and Delivery is accountable for leading the implementation of the Security Architecture Plan and associated roadmaps, identifying new security capabilities to support overall NIS compliance, and taking full responsibility for the development/ delivery of these capabilities into fully defined cost-effective security services. 

You’ll provide effective leadership, motivation, and development of a team of up to 2 Lead Security Architects and security engineering managers, with 5 indirect reports. 

You’ll own and maintain the SPR NIS technical security strategy, ensuring alignment between security architecture frameworks and standards with overall business strategy. 

Other aspects of the role include

  • Defining the sourcing strategy and collaborating with SPR Procurement and Legal Teams to procure the required services to meet the Security Architecture Plan. 

  • Creating security design documents and architecture artefacts 

  • Interfacing with the Design Authorities, providing security leadership and guidance at all times. 

  • Driving the adoption of secure designs, patterns and best practices. 

  • Ensuring people development, learning and capability development is structured into an overall Security Architecture People Plan.

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships with senior stakeholders 

  • Information risk assessment and risk management

  • Protective security and understanding of threats to OT

  • Identification, prioritisation and leadership of key security technology opportunities.

  • Experience in understanding and managing aspects of cyber risk, including the assessment, analysis, and reporting of cyber risk in a business context

  • Knowledge and experience in delivering one of more of the following areas: enterprise architecture, infrastructure, or application architecture

  • Experience in defining and/or implementing security controls across multiple layers of the IT architecture stack

  • Cyber security qualifications (e.g. CISSP, CISM, NCSC CCP, etc.)

  • Architecture qualifications or experience (e.g. SABSA, TOGAF, etc.)
