Infrastructure covers activities related to enabling functions that drive business results. Core roles include communications, compliance, corporate and business Admin, finance, human resources, legal, marketing, operations, risk management, technology, and treasury.

About the role

As the Distribution Governance & Oversight Business Analyst you will be reporting to the Head of and be a member of the team responsible for abrdn Investments Vector Global Distribution Governance.

You will get the opportunity to deliver risk-based oversight of abrdn’s distributor population, you will work across internal and external parties to ensure abrdn adhere with Product Governance obligations. You will support abrdn with our strategic transformation initiatives, leveraging internal technology solutions, taking responsibility the development of process automation and driving efficient use of data and technology across the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct proportional, risk-based due diligence and oversight of distributors at onboarding and on an ongoing basis for the duration of each distributor relationship in line with current regulatory landscape (including CSSF circular 18/698 in Luxembourg and FCA Product Governance & Consumer Duty rules in the UK).

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to develop and automate data focused processes (including; distributor feedback (KPIs), board reporting metrics, cross border sales flows and daily management of distributor populations)

  • Support ongoing and future transformation activities by assuming role of “Business Champion” for the Distribution Governance Team; documenting requirements, facilitating implementation of new technologies, systems and processes.

  • Assist the Head of DG&O and work in conjunction with abrdn’s technology teams to develop, implement and maintain the teams data and technology strategy.

  • Build and develop relationships with, and coordinate amongst, internal stakeholder teams (in particular the Distribution function, Client Service, KYC operations, Legal, Product Governance and CRM Team) to support the DG&O process, build team profile and awareness across the business of DGO’s remit & responsibilities.

About the candidate requirements

  • Proven regulatory and industry awareness, together with a passion for developing & implementing robust and proportionate governance and control frameworks

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Experience managing data and automating processes

  • Project experience, specifically; requirement gathering, data analysis and business implementation within a financial services organisation

  • Strong understanding of business intelligence solutions and building dashboards

  • Strong report writing and presentation skillset
