ScottishPower are recruiting a Quantitative Market Risk Analyst to undertake financial methods to quantify the risk and reward of business activities. You’ll report on risks to all parts of the business and provide independent validation of methodologies and models used.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll assist in the development and maintenance of reporting and modelling tools to support the wider Market Risk team. Be responsible for the maintenance of procedural documentation for existing risk processes and will assist in creation of new process documentation.

Constant reassessment and identification of best practice within models, methodologies and processes across businesses to enable optimal valuation and risk assessment is a key element of this role. Maintain an appreciation of the wider strategic picture related to the UK business objectives in order to tailor services to suit those requirements.

The post holder will be required to prepare complex information for an audience of varying levels in an understandable format, in order to provide a risk management perspective to tactical and strategic business processes and decision-making.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for candidates who are educated to Degree level in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or equivalent experience in Quantitative Analysis. Excellent numeracy, analytical and computer skills including MS Excel and Database knowledge. MS Power BI and VBA preferrable.

A strong understanding of risk management concepts and methods, and experience of quantitative analysis. Those with practical application in the Utilities sector desirable.

You’ll be detailed oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment independently. A proactive individual, with good project management skills who can manage simultaneous projects and engage with stakeholders of varying levels to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
