Job Purpose: Responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and management of condition and suitability surveys in accordance with Scottish Government requirements across the Council’s property portfolio to provide a uniform and objective basis for obtaining detailed information on the current state of council’s premises and allow for strategic forecasting of lifecycle maintenance work required.

To ensures that comprehensive and accurate data is collected to inform maintenance strategies, investment planning, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Senior Property Surveyor will lead a team of surveyors and work closely with other departments to ensure the effective management of the organisation's assets.

To assist in the management of the Council’s General Fund property estate and to assist in developing and contribute to strategic policies and procedures.

Requirements

Degree or diploma in Building Surveying, construction management, or a related field and a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

Membership with a recognised professional body such as CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers), RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or CIOB (Chartered Institute of Building) or equivalent is preferred.

Access to personal transport, as well as a commitment to regular travel across the Council’s area.
