About the department
Join our HR function as an HR Regulation Senior Manager. Support the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and MRT (Material Risk Taker) identification at abrdn. Report to the Global Head of Reward.
About the role
Key responsibilities will include:
Oversight over MRT identification and Senior Managers & Certified Regime (SMCR) activities, including the strategic agenda, regulatory deliverables, and BAU activity.
Building and nurturing relationships with Risk & Conduct, Board, Co Sec, HR, and other collaborators – keeping them informed about SMCR and MRT identification.
Co-ordinating regular HR Regulation Sponsor Meeting for Chief People Officer and Chief Risk Officer.
Oversight of Fitness & Propriety Panel agenda and outputs, and Conduct Advisory Group as required.
Supporting the Remuneration Consequence Management/Significant Events framework.
Managing relationships with entity CEOs and plc CEO on SMCR requirements – including regular entity CEO SMCR meetings and ad hoc engagement.
Preparing Board and Committee updates on Senior Manager activities/developments.
Developing and maintaining Senior Manager governance/policy framework and continuous improvement activities, including the SMR Reasonable Steps Framework.
Co-ordinating Senior Manager applications, including induction/development plans and preparation for regulatory interviews.
About the candidate requirements
Significant experience in managing regulatory compliance, particularly in relation to the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and Material Risk Taker identification.
Experience managing teams of subject matter experts, handling the strategic agenda, regulatory results, and BAU activities.
Outstanding stakeholder management, particularly with senior stakeholders.
Ability to operate at pace and prioritise effectively.
Problem-solving approach, comfortable generating new insights.
Demonstrable focus on change and agile approach to adapt to evolving circumstances and demands.
