Abbeyfield Ballachulish, a leading provider of elderly care, is seeking to employ new part time and full time Bank Care Assistants 

 

Job Description: Assistant Carer

Responsible to: Senior Carer, Deputy Manager, Manager

Main Responsibilities

 

  • To work as part of a team maintaining professional standards of care in accordance with the policies and procedures laid down by Abbeyfield Ballachulish Society. 
  • To promote independence, individual potential, dignity and interests of the tenants/residents/respite clients/day care clients at all times.
  • To ensure that residents/tenants’/respite clients and day care clients choices are reflected in all care practices.
  • To prevent and report inappropriate treatment, abusive or harmful behaviour to any resident/tenant respite client/day care client, ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
  • To be familiar with and to appropriately work within the Society’s operational policies, procedures, guiding principles and philosophy of care.
  • To participate in the staffing rotas, including evenings and weekends as necessary for the efficient provision of care for all residents/tenants/respite clients/day care clients.

  • To participate in the emotional and physical care of residents/respite clients/day care clients, seeking to provide as far as possible a happy, stimulating and stable environment for resident’s/tenants/day care clients/respite clients and lunch club members.
